Meet Elijah

Elijah Larsen is equal parts musician, recording engineer, videographer, and festival director. He’s based in Smithers BC where he lives with boston terrier/French bulldogs (Phoebe & Radar), his siamese cat (Mr. Baker) and his Wife, Heather. Elijah has been obsessed with the art of recording for as long as he can remember. It began with recording his friends on an old analog mixing board in a musty back room at his high school, and has now blossomed into a passion for video and audio production. Over the past 6 years years, Elijah has been fortunate to have worked with a multitude of businesses, organizations, and individuals from all over the region. This ranges from recording & producing albums by accomplished musicians such as Kym Gouchie and Luke Wallace, to video production with organizations such as the Canadian Olympic Committee, Chu Cho Environmental, the Bulkley Valley Folk Music Society, the Town of Smithers, the Pacific Northwest Division of Family Practice, and many more. Elijah is also the Artistic Director of the Kispiox Valley Music Festival, a position he holds near and dear to his heart.

Elijah has operated makeshift recording studios from virtually every place he’s lived over the past ten years. Dorm rooms, bedrooms, rural cabins, coastal fishing shacks, and basements have all been converted into musical hideaways. After ten years of touring, schooling and a healthy dose of transience, he + Heather have made some big moves and finally built a beautiful, state-of-the-art recording facility in the region they have grown to love so much.

Soniquinn Studios opened officially in May of 2023, and has already seen a great deal of talented musicians and projects come through it’s doors.
